Airport History and Future
Original Airport
It was located in the city area of Reidsville, then in the early 1970's a new one was built in its current location.
In 1974
The Reidsville airport authority was created by the Georgia State legislature General assembly. This allowed the controlling authority to be developed to maintain control and development of the airport in Reidsville.
Today, 2023
The Airport continues to grow and serve the local community and surrounding areas. In the last few years, the runway was lengthened to allow larger aircraft to land, It has also been resurfaced as well.
The FBO is old and dated and is in the process of having a new one built to replace it. It will have more space and areas for the community to use for meetings as well.
A new Fuel farm (Aircraft fueling area) Has just been installed and is now open for use, allowing for more fuel to be available, increasing safety, convenience, and allowing us to buy more fuel at a better price.
Georgia State Patrol
We are proud to be host to one of the Georgia State Patrols Aviation units.
The Georgia State Patrol Aviation Division operates 24/7 to provide air support to the Georgia State Patrol and in support of public safety interests for the citizens of Georgia.
